P.1 Trip to Armagh Palace Stables
Primary One enjoyed a lovely trip at Armagh Palace Stables. We enjoyed learning about Christmas during the Victorian times. We firstly met Miss Hill who told us stories about Victorian traditions including cooking. We got to help Miss Hill make Christmas cake and make a wish as we stirred the mixture.
Santa was fast asleep when we arrived, and was surprised to see us all when he woke up. Santa told us about Christmas presents during the Victorian Times. He also told us about how the tree was decorated with home made decorations, oranges and candles. Cinnamon was put on the tree to make it smell nice. Each child got to sit beside Santa and tell him about what they would like for Christmas.
We got to meet an American Solider Donald from Texas, he showed us his toys from Victorian Times. Donald’s toys included a Jacobs Ladder, train and wooden horse. Some of the children from our class got to play with his toys and demonstrate how they worked.
Before we got the bus back to school Silvia helped us to make a lovely snow globe. Thank you to Paul and everyone from Armagh Palace Stables for making our trip so magical and special. We all had a fantastic day!
